Ainsley Tuffy, a sophomore goaltender for Harvard women’s ice hockey, has been named the ECAC’s MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. This marks her second time receiving the award this season.
Tuffy’s recognition comes after she recorded 68 saves over two games. She helped Harvard secure a 1-1 draw against No. 8 Quinnipiac on February 6, making 30 saves and stopping all three shootout attempts by the Bobcats. This result was Harvard’s first against Quinnipiac since 2022.
The following day, Tuffy made 38 saves in a game against No. 7 Princeton, allowing only two goals. Her performance contributed to Harvard’s comeback win with a late third-period goal by Ella Lucia, marking their second top-10 victory of the year and their first win over Princeton since 2022.
Tuffy currently leads NCAA Division I women’s hockey with a .956 save percentage and has made 541 saves on 566 shots in 15 games played. She is also ranked in the top ten nationally for goals-against average at 1.641 and is twelfth in winning percentage at .667.
“This is the second career weekly honor for Tuffy and seventh weekly award for the Crimson as a team this season,” according to the team’s announcement.
Harvard will conclude its regular season with away games against RPI on February 13 and Union on February 14. Updates about the team and information about the upcoming ECAC Tournament can be found on their social media channels and official website.
