Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues on her social media platform, including food insecurity in Massachusetts, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti, and federal spending priorities.
On April 10, 2026, Pressley posted: “40% of households in MA are food insecure—a damning statistic made worse by Trump & Republicans’ cuts to food assistance programs. Thank you @Gr8BosFoodBank and @MassGenBrigham for spotlighting this crisis and equipping us with the data we need to end hunger once and for all.” She highlighted the impact of recent policy changes on food assistance programs and acknowledged local organizations for their work addressing hunger.
Later that day, she turned attention to immigration policy and its effects on local communities. In a post dated April 10, 2026, Pressley wrote: “Our Haitian neighbors are deeply rooted in our communities and essential to our economy. And terminating TPS for Haiti would be devastating & destabilizing, especially in Boston. That’s why we’re fighting hard to extend Haiti TPS and we’re closer than ever to getting it done.”
On April 11, 2026, Pressley criticized federal budget priorities in another post: “Housing. Paid leave. Healthcare. Student debt. Just a few of the many issues Trump should be focused on tackling for the American people. Instead, he’s spending at least $2 billion a day on a reckless, unauthorized war that’s harming our service members & civilians alike.”
Ayanna Pressley has represented Massachusetts’s 7th District since 2019 after succeeding Mike Capuano and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Cincinnati in 1974 and currently residing in Boston at age 49, she is known for her advocacy on social justice issues.
