Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to comment on healthcare funding, transgender rights, and autoimmune disease awareness.
On March 31, 2026, Pressley posted: “You can’t make this stuff up. Republicans are LITERALLY trying to cut healthcare for families here at home to fund ICE’s terror and Trump’s unlawful war in Iran. The cruelty is truly the point.”
Later that same day, she addressed issues facing transgender individuals: “Transphobia has no place in our society. This Transgender Day of Visibility, I’m thinking about our trans neighbors who live in unsafe places, are struggling with their mental health, & fighting for their right to exist. This Congresswoman sees you, loves you, & celebrates you.”
On April 1, 2026, she recognized Autoimmune Awareness Month by stating: “March is Autoimmune Awareness Month, so I just want my tribe to know: I see you. I’m fighting for your visibility. And I’m fighting for more funding research for you. This Congresswoman has your back.”
Ayanna Pressley has represented Massachusetts’s 7th District since 2019 after replacing Mike Capuano and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Cincinnati in 1974 and currently resides in Boston.
