Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who has been serving Massachusetts’ 7th district since 2019, recently shared her thoughts on several significant issues through a series of tweets. Her messages touched on immigration rights, community gatherings, and reproductive freedom.
On January 22, 2025, Congresswoman Pressley addressed the fear and threat of immigration raids affecting communities across the country. She expressed her solidarity with immigrant neighbors and families by stating: “Know Your Rights! Communities across the country are dealing with the fear and threat of immigration raids. To our immigrant neighbors and families, I am so sorry you are facing this cruelty and targeting, and our office is here as a resource.”
Later that day, she attended the 55th Annual MLK Memorial Breakfast in Boston. Reflecting on the event’s significance, she tweeted: “It’s always a joy to break bread & be in beloved community for the 55th Annual MLK Memorial Breakfast in Boston — the oldest such MLK breakfast in the country. The young scholars we honored are truly a manifestation of King’s radical dream.”
In another tweet posted on January 22, 2025, Congresswoman Pressley commented on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. She emphasized her commitment to reproductive rights by stating: “It’s been 52 years since Roe v. Wade—and 3 anniversaries since millions were stripped of their right to abortion care. Today we’re unyielding in our resolve & we won’t rest until we safeguard reproductive freedom future for all. My statement w/ @RepDianaDegette & @ReproCaucus.”
