Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed constituents and national issues through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On October 1, 2025, Pressley extended greetings to those observing Yom Kippur, stating: “G’Mar Chatima Tova. Wishing a peaceful, meaningful fast to friends and neighbors in the #MA7 and beyond observing Yom Kippur and gathering with loved ones.”
The following day, she commented on the ongoing government shutdown and its implications for federal workers. On October 2, 2025, she wrote: “Trump is using the government shutdown *he caused* as an excuse to fire more federal workers. Instead of working with Democrats to save healthcare and protect essential services, Republicans are gutting our government so Trump can play king. The cruelty is the point.”
Later that same day, Pressley highlighted the impact of healthcare policy changes on individuals like Tony, who is living with stage-four thymic carcinoma. She posted: “Tony has stage-four thymic carcinoma. With the expanded ACA tax credits, he’s been able to get life-saving care. Without them, his healthcare costs would jump & he’d have to drop his coverage altogether. While Democrats fight for families like his, Republicans chose to shut”
Ayanna Pressley has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Mike Capuano and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Cincinnati in 1974 and currently residing in Boston at age 49, she continues to be an active voice on legislative matters affecting her district and beyond.
