Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on social media regarding community initiatives and her views on national politics in a series of posts dated May 25 and May 26, 2026.
On May 25, Pressley highlighted the inauguration of a new Latino cultural center in New England: “Felicidades to Vanessa & @IBA_Boston on the official opening of La CASA. This is now the largest Latino cultural center in New England, and it gets to call the #MA7 home. It was a joy to tour the facility and meet the staff alongside @RepAOC.” The event underscores her ongoing engagement with local cultural organizations.
Later that day, Pressley criticized former President Donald Trump’s economic policies, stating, “Donald Trump’s reckless economic policies and targeting of Black workers are crushing Black America. And the harm is coming for everyone. Congress must advance policies that protect civil rights, expand opportunities for all, and make the economy work for everyone in America.”
On May 26, she continued her critique of Trump and Republican leaders: “Trump and Republicans want to take America back to pre-Reconstruction. They want to silence Black votes, restrict our fundamental freedoms, and dilute our representation. But we’ll continue to organize, mobilize, fight, and vote for our full rights and citizenship.”
Pressley has served as U.S. Representative since 2019 after replacing Mike Capuano. She previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Cincinnati in 1974, she currently resides in Boston.
