Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to address the impact of a federal government shutdown and to pay tribute to the Speaker of the House.
On November 5, 2025, Pressley posted: “Federal workers ensure your heat is on, your families are fed, your childcare needs are met, & more. They deserve dignity & respect. But under the Trump-Republican shutdown, they are losing both their livelihoods and their ability to serve our communities. Shameful.” She also shared a link in a subsequent post on the same day: “https://t.co/XmJsSY6sC3”.
The following day, November 6, 2025, Pressley expressed gratitude toward the Speaker of the House with another message: “Thank you, Madam Speaker. Thank you for your grit, grace, unshakeable faith, and strategic brilliance. You’ve been the most effective Speaker of the House in American history, breaking barriers, fighting hard for workers and families, and serving as a mentor to so many of us.”
Ayanna Pressley has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Mike Capuano and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Cincinnati in 1974 and currently residing in Boston at age 49, she continues to advocate for workers and families through her legislative work.
