Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who has represented Massachusetts’ 7th District since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets addressing her concerns about actions taken by former President Donald Trump and his administration. The Congresswoman is known for her advocacy on issues such as corruption and government accountability.
On June 8, 2025, Pressley tweeted about what she described as Trump’s “brazen crypto bribery scheme,” suggesting that companies should not be able to influence a U.S. President to dismiss SEC lawsuits. She posed the question: “If this isn’t corruption, then what is?”
Later that day, Pressley criticized Trump for allegedly using the federal government to intimidate communities. She expressed solidarity with those peacefully protesting against these actions, stating: “I stand in solidarity with people of good conscience peacefully standing up to protect their neighbors.”
The following day, June 9, 2025, Pressley addressed the Trump administration’s decision to fire numerous federal health workers while simultaneously launching an initiative purportedly aimed at improving baby formula safety. She urged Secretary Kennedy to halt the program until staffing levels are restored to ensure family safety. Her tweet read: “We’re demanding @SecKennedy halt this program until staff are rehired and they can keep our families safe.”
Ayanna Pressley was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974 and currently resides in Boston.
