Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted several policy concerns through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On December 3, 2025, Pressley drew attention to the issue of federal contractors not receiving back pay following a government shutdown, stating, “Unlike federal employees, federal *contractors* did not receive backpay when the government reopened. I’m still fighting to make sure they do. This isn’t just a matter of fairness—it’s about stability, dignity, & justice.”
The following day, on December 4, 2025, she addressed immigration enforcement practices in certain neighborhoods. In her post she wrote, “In communities like Allston, rogue, masked agents are terrorizing our immigrant neighbors—glorified bullies masquerading as public servants. They’re abducting workers, violating civil rights, & ripping families apart. We must protect our communities and reject this cruelty at”.
Later that same day, Pressley commented on healthcare access and legislative efforts to extend tax credits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She posted: “Healthcare is not a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have. Democrats are united in extending ACA tax credits that have been a lifeline for families. Now we just need four Republicans of conscience to join us and help save healthcare for millions of people.”
Ayanna Pressley has represented Massachusetts’s 7th District in Congress since 2019 after replacing Mike Capuano. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and was born in Cincinnati in 1974 before moving to Boston.
