Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing LGBTQ+ rights, immigration policy, and her legislative priorities.
On February 13, 2026, Pressley cited activist Marsha P. Johnson and expressed support for transgender rights legislation: “Marsha P. Johnson said it best:
‘No pride for some of us, without liberation for all of us.’
I’m proud to be a co-sponsor of the Trans Bill of Rights. Our trans siblings deserve safety, dignity, & freedom.”
The following day, February 14, 2026, she highlighted her approach to policymaking with another post: “Policy is my love language.
Here are a few policies I’m fighting for this Valentine’s Day:”
On February 15, 2026, Pressley addressed concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and called for several policy changes: “We can never get true justice for those killed by ICE. Because true justice would mean they would be alive today.
But our demands for accountability remain clear:
Abolish ICE.
Impeach Kristi Noem.
End qualified immunity.”
Ayanna Pressley has represented Massachusetts’s 7th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Mike Capuano. She previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and currently resides in Boston. Born in Cincinnati in 1974, Pressley has focused much of her career on progressive causes related to civil rights and social justice.
