Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues of survivor advocacy and immigration policy in a series of posts on her social media account.
On March 29, 2026, Pressley posted a message directed at survivors of abuse: “To survivors everywhere: I believe you. The shame was never yours to carry. Anyone who violates another person in this way is small and broken. They should be named, shamed, & held accountable for survivors everywhere.”
Two days later, on March 31, 2026, she announced progress regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians in the House of Representatives: “ICYMI: My discharge petition to extend Haiti TPS has enough support to force a vote in the House. This is a huge win and brings us closer than ever to saving Haitian lives and delivering the protections they deserve. Let’s get it done!” She also shared an additional link related to this announcement on the same day: “https://t.co/Hf3ZAuGgLx”
Ayanna Pressley has served as the representative for Massachusetts’s 7th District since 2019 after succeeding Mike Capuano. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974, Pressley currently resides in Boston.
