Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who has represented Massachusetts’ 7th district since 2019, recently shared her thoughts on social media regarding various national observances and personal advocacy.
On July 4, 2025, she expressed her holiday wishes by stating “Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! Let’s celebrate Independence Day by recommitting to the Work of building a more just, equitable America.” This message emphasizes her commitment to fostering justice and equity in the nation.
The following day, on July 5, 2025, Congresswoman Pressley recognized Disability Pride Month with a post that read “Happy Disability Pride Month! I’ll never stop legislating to build a more just, accessible America where people with disabilities are treated with respect and dignity. Because disability rights are human rights.” This statement highlights her ongoing legislative efforts to enhance accessibility and respect for individuals with disabilities.
Later that same day, she addressed her personal connection to alopecia by sharing “I’m one of the 7 million people in America living with alopecia. In Congress, I’m fighting for bold investments in research, to combat stigma and bullying, and medical coverage to help us along our journey.” Her advocacy extends into healthcare research funding and anti-bullying initiatives related to this condition.
Ayanna Pressley has been an active member of Congress since succeeding Mike Capuano in 2019. Born in Cincinnati in 1974, she currently resides in Boston.
