Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, representing Massachusetts’ 7th district since 2019, shared her views on recent political and social issues through a series of tweets. Known for her advocacy in immigrant justice and civil rights, Pressley addressed concerns related to former President Donald Trump’s policies and recent acts of violence.
On June 2, 2025, Pressley tweeted about Donald Trump’s impact on communities, stating “Donald Trump wants to sow fear & chaos in our communities so we feel alone & defeated — but we won’t let him.” She invited the public to join her alongside immigrant justice advocates and local leaders to oppose actions by Trump and ICE against immigrant neighbors.
Later that day, she responded to an incident in Boulder, Colorado. In her tweet at 19:54 UTC, she condemned the event as “The antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado is horrifying and unacceptable.” She emphasized that violence does not bring justice and expressed her prayers for those affected.
In another tweet posted at 23:24 UTC on the same day, Pressley reiterated her stance against Trump’s immigration policies. She stated “We will NOT stand by while Trump and ICE terrorize our communities and carry out their cruel, unlawful mass deportation agenda.” She convened with advocates and community leaders to deliver a unified message opposing these actions.
Ayanna Pressley has been a vocal figure in Congress since replacing Mike Capuano in 2019. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974, she now resides in Boston.
