Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, representing the 7th District, recently shared her views on social media regarding congressional activities and legislative proposals. Serving in Congress since replacing Mike Capuano in 2019, Pressley also has prior service in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1974 and currently resides in Boston.

On April 10, 2025, Pressley criticized the Republicans for passing a budget bill. “Republicans just passed their budget bill which will slash Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion to pay for massive tax giveaways for billionaires like Elon Musk. The shame and sham of it all. I voted NO.” Her statement highlights her disapproval of the financial allocations, indicating concern over cuts to Medicaid funding.

Later that same day, Pressley shared her thoughts on the SAVE Act, a legislative measure proposed by Republicans. “Don’t get it twisted. Republicans’ SAVE Act is an undemocratic voter suppression bill that makes it harder to vote for service members, married women, rural voters, folks of color, & millions of other US citizens. I voted NO.” Pressley condemns the bill for its potential impact on voter accessibility.

In the early hours of April 11, 2025, Pressley expressed her concern for an individual named Kilmar in her tweet, reflecting on its impact. “Bring Kilmar Home. I’m thinking of his family tonight and everyone who has been harmed by this cruel, lawless White House.” This message alludes to a broader critique of current administrative policies.

Ayanna Pressley, representative of Massachusetts’ 7th District since 2019, continues her engagement with legislative matters and voicing her concerns on issues impacting her constituents and the nation.
