Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, representing Massachusetts’ 7th District since 2019, shared her thoughts on social media about various pressing issues. Her tweets addressed Holocaust Remembrance Day, the firing of Inspectors General, and the potential impact of federal fund cuts on essential services.

On January 27, 2025, Pressley commemorated Holocaust Remembrance Day by expressing her sorrow over the six million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. She emphasized the importance of remembering these individuals and reaffirmed her commitment to combating antisemitism and hate. “Today, we grieve & remember the 6 million Jewish lives stolen in the Holocaust… On #HolocaustRemembranceDay, we tell their stories, say #NeverAgain, and reaffirm our commitment to rooting out antisemitism & hate in all its forms.”

In a tweet dated January 28, 2025, Pressley criticized former President Donald Trump for dismissing Inspectors General. She argued that this action undermines accountability within government operations. “Inspectors General are meant to root out fraud, abuse and misconduct… By firing these independent watchdogs, Trump is removing checks on his power and paving the way for widespread corruption. This is illegal and undemocratic.”

Later that day, Pressley expressed concern over halted cancer research and threatened heating assistance due to potential federal fund cuts. She highlighted how such measures could adversely affect people’s lives across the country and particularly in Massachusetts’ 7th District. “Cancer research halted. Heating assistance threatened… This isn’t just unlawful and unconstitutional—it is wholesale harm that could cost people their lives and livelihoods.”
