The Boston Bruins announced on March 31 that defenseman Myles Brosnan of Dexter Southfield School and forward Christina Scalese of Groton School are the recipients of the 2026 John Carlton Memorial Trophies.
The John Carlton Memorial Trophies are awarded each year by the Bruins to recognize Massachusetts’ most outstanding high school senior boys and girls ice hockey players. The award, established in 1983, honors the late Bruins scout who supported the development of hockey players across all levels in Massachusetts.
Brosnan and Scalese will be recognized during the second intermission at the Bruins game against the Dallas Stars on March 31 at TD Garden.
Brosnan, a native of Winchester, Massachusetts, played as a defenseman for Dexter Southfield School and served as Captain for the 2025-26 season. He recorded seven goals and 44 assists for a total of 51 points in 30 games. Standing at six-foot-one and weighing 190 pounds, Brosnan was selected in the fourth round by Sioux City Musketeers. He is Dexter’s all-time leading scorer among defensemen with 108 points over his high school career. His achievements include being named Dexter’s Most Valuable Player, Neutral Zone Defenseman of the Year, First Team All-Prep honors, and earning All-NEPSAC distinction for the season.
Brosnan also participated in several notable events such as competing in the USA Hockey All-American Game in 2026, skating with Sioux City Musketeers during the USHL Fall Classic, and gaining experience with USA Hockey National Team Development Program (U18) against collegiate teams Clarkson University and Saint Lawrence. For this year’s NHL Draft, he is ranked No.62 by The Hockey News and No.104 among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. Brosnan plans to continue both his academic studies and hockey career at Harvard University starting this fall.
