Boston College Baseball defeated Dartmouth 13-3 on April 8 at Chestnut Hill. The win brought the Eagles to a record of 24-11 for the season and 9-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Dartmouth fell to 6-16 overall and 3-6 in Ivy League games.

The game began with Dartmouth scoring first on a double to left-center field. Boston College responded quickly, as Nick Wang hit his twelfth home run of the year—a career high—to give the Eagles an early lead. The team added another run in the second inning when Kyle Wolff’s hard-hit ball allowed Gunnar Johnson to score.

Dartmouth tied the game at three runs apiece in the third inning after a two-run triple. However, Boston College reclaimed control during their half of the third, adding three runs with contributions from Ty Mainolfi, Jack Toomey, Carter Hendrickson, and Johnson. In the fourth inning, Boston College extended its lead by scoring six runs through timely hitting and aggressive baserunning that included a double steal and multiple extra-base hits.

On defense, Drew Grumbles started for Boston College and pitched two innings with three strikeouts while allowing one earned run. Several pitchers contributed throughout the game: John D Mitchell gave up two earned runs over one inning; Peter Schaefer threw two scoreless innings; Matthew Spada pitched a scoreless sixth; and John Mass closed out with a scoreless seventh in his collegiate debut.

The Eagles ended the contest early after Colin Larson scored on a sacrifice fly from Wang following stolen bases in the seventh inning.

Boston College is scheduled to begin a three-game series against Virginia Tech on Friday at home.
