Boston College Baseball entered the national rankings on Mar. 30, checking in at No. 21 in the Baseball America poll and No. 22 in the D1 Baseball poll.

The team’s entry into the rankings follows a successful weekend series against then ninth-ranked Virginia, where Boston College won two out of three games. The Eagles secured victories on Friday and Saturday with scores of 5-3 and 17-0.

This season, Boston College has recorded five wins over ranked opponents, including three against top-10 teams. Prior to their recent series win over Virginia, the Eagles defeated then-No. 24 Miami twice and then-No. 10 North Carolina State, both on the road.

Five players from Boston College are included in D1Baseball’s midseason player rankings. Ty Mainolfi is ranked as the nation’s No. 23 second baseman and sixth best in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Nick Wang is listed as No. 29 nationally among first basemen and seventh in the ACC; Gavin Soares is ranked No. 34 among all relievers nationally and sixth highest in the ACC; Julio Solier stands at No. 37 among shortstops nationwide; A.J. Colarusso rounds out Boston College’s representation at No. 83 among starting pitchers.

Looking ahead, Boston College will host Maine tomorrow at home before traveling to face sixth-ranked North Carolina for a weekend series beginning April 2.
