No. 22 Boston College Baseball will travel to play No. 6 North Carolina in a weekend series beginning April 2, with the first game scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on ACCNX. The teams will also meet on April 3 and April 4, with both games streamed on ACCNX.

The matchup is significant as Boston College looks to improve its record against North Carolina, which stands at seven wins and thirty-four losses all-time. Last year, the Eagles went one and three against the Tar Heels, including a loss in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament where North Carolina won by a score of seven to two. However, Boston College managed one regular season victory at home thanks to a three-run home run by Patrick Roche.

North Carolina enters the series with an overall record of twenty-five wins, four losses, and one tie this season and holds a nine-and-three conference record. The Tar Heels recently secured a fourteen-inning win over Campbell after sweeping then-No. 23 Notre Dame during the previous weekend. Four players are batting over .300 for North Carolina this season; Owen Hull leads with a .349 average and thirty-one runs batted in while Cooper Nicholson has hit seven home runs.

The pitching matchups begin Thursday night when A.J. Colarusso (2-1) faces Jason DeCaro (5-1). Friday’s game features Tyler Mudd (2-2) against Ryan Lynch (2-2), while Sunday’s finale matches Brady Miller—who has not recorded a decision but maintains an earned run average of 0.82—against Folger Boaz (2-0).

Boston College comes into the series after defeating Maine in its midweek contest by a score of seven to four, rallying late behind pitching from Jacob Burnham, Chase Hartsell, and Sean Hard as well as key hits from Julio Solier and Ty Mainolfi.

After facing North Carolina, Boston College will return home for a fourteen-game homestand that begins with the first round of the Beanpot tournament before hosting Dartmouth.
