No. 22 Boston College Baseball will host Maine in a midweek contest on March 31, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ACCNX.

The matchup is significant as Boston College looks to improve its record against the Black Bears. The Eagles currently hold an overall record of 11-17 against Maine, including an 11-14 mark at home. In last year’s meeting, Boston College lost a close game in extra innings by a score of 5-4. Beck Milner led the Eagles’ offense that day with three runs batted in on two hits, while Jacob Burnham started on the mound and recorded five strikeouts over four innings.

Maine enters the contest with a season record of 5-20 but recently won two out of three games at UMass Lowell and has notched a win this year against Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Duke. Offensively, Quinn Murphy and Juju Stevens are hitting above .300 for Maine, with Stevens leading the team with 31 hits and Troy Carpenter topping all batters with 31 runs batted in. On the pitching side, Gianni Gambardella and Jason Krieger have each thrown more than 35 innings and lead Maine’s staff in strikeouts as well as earned run average.

Boston College comes into this game after taking two out of three games from then-ninth-ranked Virginia over the past weekend. The Eagles won Friday’s matchup by a score of 5-3 and followed up with a dominant performance Saturday, winning 17-0. Starting pitchers A.J. Colarusso, Tyler Mudd, and Brady Miller combined for eighteen innings pitched while allowing just one earned run and striking out sixteen batters across both victories. Offensively, Nick Wang, Luke Gallo, and Kyle Wolff combined to go thirteen-for-thirty at the plate with eleven runs batted in—including three extra-base hits and three home runs during those games.

The Eagles’ recent shutout marked their third such achievement this season—making them one of only fifteen schools nationally to post at least three shutouts so far—and was also their second time scoring more than fifteen runs in a single game this year.

Looking ahead after facing Maine, Boston College will travel to play No.6 North Carolina for a weekend series beginning April 2nd; all games are scheduled to be broadcast on ACCNX.
