The Boston College Eagles continued their preparations for the upcoming football season with their seventh spring practice session on March 24. The team gathered for an early morning workout as they entered the third week of spring drills.
Spring practices are important for evaluating talent and building team chemistry, especially as new players join the roster and returning athletes look to solidify their roles.
After Tuesday’s session, sophomore running back Bo MacCormack III and senior cornerback Max Tucker spoke with reporters. The defense made an early impact during practice, highlighted by Marcus Upton breaking up a deep pass along the sideline and Kameron Howard making a diving play to disrupt a slant route over the middle. Tucker commented on the team’s evolving identity, saying, “It’s a new page. This is a new team. We all have to bring it together. It doesn’t matter where you came from or what you did last year. This is a whole new year.”
Later in practice, the offense took control of the tempo. True freshman running back Sedric Addison sparked momentum with a 30-yard run down to the goal line. During red-zone competition periods, touchdowns were scored by Nolan Ray (catching a pass from Mason McKenzie), Evan Dickens (rushing), Mekhi Dodd (rushing), and Johnathan Montague Jr. (catching a pass from Grayson Wilson).
MacCormack emphasized his personal connection to Boston College: “I’m from this area, so this is obviously a very important place to me. Having roots here, it means a whole lot to me to represent this school and this state.” The Eagles are scheduled to return for another closed practice session on Thursday.
