Boston College fencing opens ACC Championships; Eichhorn wins bronze

The Boston College fencing team began its participation at the ACC Championships in Durham, North Carolina, with mixed results on the first day of competition.

Lukas Eichhorn earned a bronze medal in the men’s saber event. The Eagles also had two athletes finish in the top ten for each weapon category during the men’s individual events.

In the afternoon session, Boston College’s women’s team competed in the team competition and finished fifth after losing all four matches. The match results were as follows: against Notre Dame (6-21), UNC (12-15), Duke (8-19), and Stanford (9-19). In weapon-specific performance, they went 1-3 in saber, 0-4 in foil, and 1-3 in epee.
