The Boston College football team held its eighth spring practice on Thursday morning, March 26, as the Eagles continued their preparations for the upcoming season. The session featured a variety of drills, including red-zone scenarios and two-minute situations.
Spring practices are an important part of college football programs as teams evaluate players and build cohesion ahead of the fall season. For Boston College, these sessions provide opportunities to assess new talent and refine strategies.
During Thursday’s shorter practice at Fish Field House, the offense started strong. Reed Swanson caught a long pass down the sideline early in the competitive team period. Early enrollee Sedric Addison also broke free for a long run before Femi Babalola connected with Zach Schnorrbusch on a touch pass to the corner of the field.
Quarterback Mason McKenzie led several successful drives into the end zone throughout practice. He threw touchdown passes to Johnathan Montague Jr., Nolan Ray out of the backfield, and Florida transfer Cameron Kossmann during red-zone drills. In situational two-minute work that closed out practice, McKenzie found Danny Edgehille across the middle for another touchdown.
The defense finished strong as well. Njita Sinkala prevented Swanson from scoring by forcing him out of bounds after a one-handed catch in the end zone. Second-year defensive back Charleston Coldon intercepted a pass on what became the final play of Thursday’s session.
The Eagles are scheduled to hold their final practice of this week on Saturday morning. All practices remain closed to spectators.
