The Boston College football team resumed its spring practice on April 7 following a five-day Easter break, holding its twelfth session of the season inside Fish Field House.
Spring practices are an important part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming season, giving players and coaches time to develop skills and assess talent in a competitive environment.
During Tuesday’s opening competitive period, Cameron Martinez energized the defense with a pass breakup deep down the sideline. The offense responded with two significant runs from Maryland transfer Nolan Ray and freshman Sedric Addison. In one-on-one drills between wide receivers and defensive backs, Reed Swanson, Nedrick Boldin Jr., Johnathan Montague, and Jackson Wade each scored touchdowns. Defensive plays were also made by Njita Sinkala, Max Tucker, and Carter Davis who prevented scores with pass breakups.
Momentum continued into a 7-on-7 drill where Mason McKenzie connected with Swanson for another touchdown before Marcus Upton broke up a pass in the end zone. Freshman quarterback Femi Babalola later found VJ Wilkins for a touchdown reception. The final situational scenarios included another scoring connection between McKenzie and Swanson. On the last play of practice, Alabama transfer Kameron Howard broke up a pass near the back pylon to save a touchdown.
The Eagles will return to practice on Wednesday for their second session of the final week of spring ball. All practices remain closed to the public.
