Boston College lacrosse secured a 13-11 victory over No. 2 Stanford on March 26 at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
The win marks the Eagles’ highest-ranked triumph of the season, improving their record to 6-5 overall and 5-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The loss is Stanford’s first of the season, dropping them to a 10-1 overall record and a conference mark of 6-1.
Shea Dolce made ten saves for Boston College, including seven in the second half. Her stop with two minutes left kept BC ahead by one goal before Hanna Davis scored her second goal to secure the result for the Eagles. “Her stop with two minutes remaining preserved a 12-11 BC lead before Hanna Davis sealed the game with her second goal,” according to Boston College.
The match featured six ties and seven lead changes, with neither team leading by more than three goals at any point. Boston College started strong with a three-goal run led by Marissa White’s two goals and an assist, but Stanford responded with five consecutive goals to take an early advantage. Caroline Chisholm ended that run for BC, which then regained momentum heading into halftime.
Key contributions came from several players: Shea Baker led in caused turnovers; Kylee Colbert had four points including two crucial fourth-quarter goals; Giulia Colarusso tallied three goals and one assist; Molly Driscoll notched her second hat trick of the season; while White added another multi-point performance. After trailing early in draw controls, BC won that battle over the final three quarters.
Boston College will next begin a three-game road trip starting Monday against UAlbany.
