Boston College lacrosse will face No. 2 Stanford on Thursday, March 25, in a game scheduled for 5 p.m. at Alumni Stadium and broadcast on ACC Network.
The matchup is significant as Boston College looks to improve its record to 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a win. A victory would also mark the Eagles’ highest-ranked win of the season and hand Stanford its first loss.
In their last outing, Boston College fell to top-ranked North Carolina, 21-12. Freshman Lily Kondas led the Eagles with five goals, while Giulia Colarusso, Casey Colbert, and Marissa White each contributed three points. Colbert recorded two assists during the game.
Kondas has emerged as a key player for Boston College this season. She is fifth on the team with 11 goals and has scored eight of those in her last two games. Caroline Chisholm has also contributed by ranking fourth on the team in ground balls and tying for fourth in caused turnovers.
The Eagles have seen recent success from alumni as well: five former players were selected in the Women’s Lacrosse League supplemental draft held Wednesday. Kenzie Kent and Rachel Clark were chosen by Boston Guard; Sam Apuzzo was picked by Maryland Charm; Sydney Scales joined New York Charge; Emma LoPinto heads to California Palms.
Stanford enters Thursday’s contest undefeated at 10-0 after defeating Arizona State, led by Aliya Polisky with 28 goals this season. The teams have met five times previously, with Boston College holding a slight edge at three wins to two over Stanford—including victories both times since Stanford joined the ACC.
Following Thursday’s game against Stanford, Boston College will begin a three-game road trip starting Monday against UAlbany.
