The Boston College men’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Surf Club Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State, on March 10. The team ended the tournament at 14-under par and secured top five rankings in par 5 scoring, eagles, and birdies.
This result highlights a strong performance for Boston College among a competitive field. The team’s ability to finish under par and excel in key statistical categories demonstrates their consistency throughout the event.
Freshman Tony Yin led the Eagles with a final round score of 67, recording five birdies and finishing tied for 10th place at seven under par. Junior Markus Lam and senior Jack Pogorelc both finished at five under par, tying for 14th place. Lam matched Yin’s five birdies in the final round, while Pogorelc limited himself to just two bogeys.
Sophomore Tommy Mangan shot a final round of 74 to finish tied for 58th place at four over par. Freshman Connor Chisum rounded out the lineup for Boston College, finishing tied for 97th at fourteen over par.
Georgia State won the tournament with a score of thirty-seven under par, followed by Elon at thirty-four under and Augusta at fifteen under. N.C. A&T completed the top five teams with twelve under par. Drew Walker from N.C. A&T was the individual winner at thirteen under par.
The Surf Club Invitational took place at Surf Golf & Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on a course set up as a par-71 over 6,604 yards.
