Boston College men’s golf stands ninth after two rounds at Palmas del Mar Collegiate

Boston College Men’s Golf team is in ninth place after the second round of the Palmas del Mar Collegiate tournament, held in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The Eagles have a combined score of 582, which puts them at 6-over par through 36 holes.

Freshman Tony Yin leads the Boston College players with rounds of 69 and 73, finishing Monday’s play at 1-over par and tied for 13th place individually. Senior Jack Pogorelc is one stroke behind Yin after shooting a team-best round of 3-under par (69) on Monday, highlighted by an eagle on the third hole, a par-5. Pogorelc remains within the top 20.

Sophomore Tommy Mangan completed his second round at 2-over par (74), tying for 36th place with four other competitors. Junior Markus Lam and freshman Connor Chisum are further down the leaderboard, sitting in 76th and tied for 77th places respectively.

The tournament concludes Tuesday morning with the final round played at Palmas del Mar Flamboyan course, which measures 7,117 yards and plays as a par-72.

Currently leading the team standings are TCU and Wake Forest. In individual competition, Tom Haberer from Wake Forest and Shaun Cook from Kennesaw State share first place at nine under par.
