The Boston College men’s tennis team lost 4-0 to Notre Dame on March 29 at the Weymouth Club. The match saw the Eagles drop to a record of 4-12 overall and 0-10 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Notre Dame improved to 19-4 overall and 8-2 in conference.

The result highlights ongoing challenges for Boston College this season as they continue their search for a conference win. The loss also came during the team’s senior day, marking an important occasion for several players.

Notre Dame took control early by winning doubles matches No. 2 and No. 1, securing the doubles point before singles play began. The third doubles match, featuring Lukas Rais and Luke Levanat for Boston College, was left unfinished with the score at 2-4. In singles competition, Notre Dame clinched victory with three straight-set wins. At that point, three other singles matches remained unfinished: Mai Gao led his first set but did not complete his second; Matthew Overvelde narrowly lost his first set but was ahead in the second; Aidan Pack split sets before play stopped.

Boston College honored seniors Aidan Pack, James Cockrell, and Mai Gao during Sunday’s match as part of its senior day recognition.

Looking ahead, Boston College will travel south for matches against Clemson on Friday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m., followed by Georgia Tech on Sunday, April 4 at noon.
