The Boston College men’s track and field team began its outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays on March 26, with several athletes posting notable performances.
The meet marked the start of the Eagles’ spring campaign, providing an early test for returning runners and newcomers alike. The event featured competition in distance races and steeplechase.
Colin Shaver competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11th place with a time of 9:10.73. Theodor Schucht set a new school record in the 5000 meters, running a personal best of 13:45.34 to finish in 14th place. Schucht improved his previous school record by four seconds.
Colin Peattie made his debut in the 5000 meters, completing the race in 14:05.79 for a 39th-place finish. Patrick Donnelly closed out Boston College’s evening by running the 10,000 meters in a time of 29:51.40.
The team will continue its opening weekend at the Jaylin Rainford Invitational hosted by Bryant on March 27.
