Boston College is set to face the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, for its second-to-last road game of the 2025-26 men’s basketball regular season. The game will take place at 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the ACC Network, with radio coverage available on WEEI 850 AM.
This matchup marks the 62nd meeting between Boston College and Miami since their first contest in 1962. Boston College currently leads the all-time series by a narrow margin, holding a 31-30 record against Miami. In their most recent encounter earlier this season, Miami secured a win over Boston College with a score of 74-68 at Conte Forum.
In their last outing, Boston College defeated Wake Forest in a close game decided by Aidan Shaw’s last-second putback, resulting in a 68-67 victory. Fred Payne led the team with 23 points, including 17 scored in the second half. Boden Kapke contributed a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds, while Shaw added eleven points and seven rebounds.
Through 28 games this season, Boston College has demonstrated strong defensive performance nationally and within the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Eagles are ranked third in the ACC and forty-second nationally for blocks per game at an average of 4.4. Jayden Hastings and Aidan Shaw are both among the top ten shot blockers in the conference. The team also ranks fourth in scoring defense within the ACC and maintains one of the best three-point percentage defenses nationwide.
Fred Payne has shown notable improvement during his second full season with Boston College. He has increased his averages across several categories—points per game by nearly nine points, as well as rebounds and assists—compared to last year. Defensively, he has surpassed his previous totals for steals and blocks from last season after just 27 games this year.
The Eagles have recently closed out home conference games strongly against Syracuse and Pittsburgh, outscoring both teams significantly during crucial late-game stretches to secure victories. Prior to these wins, late runs by opponents had cost Boston College several leads late in games earlier this season.
Aidan Shaw was named to the watch list for participation in this year’s State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship as part of national postseason festivities scheduled for April.
Several players have reached personal milestones this season: Donald Hand Jr. scored his thousandth career point during a win over Wake Forest; Chase Forte achieved that mark earlier against Georgia Tech; Aidan Shaw played his hundredth career collegiate game; Caleb Steger and Marko Radunovic made their college debuts early in the campaign.
This season also marks a change at Conte Forum as its basketball court will now be known as Edgerley Family Court—a recognition of significant contributions from Sandra and Paul Edgerley toward supporting undergraduate financial aid at Boston College.
At home this year, Boston College has held opponents to under seventy points per game on average while limiting shooting percentages from both inside and beyond the arc. Multiple players have consistently reached double-digit scoring figures during home contests.
Other individual highlights include Fred Payne setting new career highs for assists (seven), Boden Kapke posting nineteen points against Pittsburgh, Luka Toews reaching twenty-one points versus FDU along with six three-pointers made, Jayden Hastings recording six blocks against Clemson, among others.
Payne is currently on a fourteen-game streak of scoring double digits—including three straight games above twenty points—and Donald Hand Jr., Jayden Hastings, and Aidan Shaw have each posted notable streaks or performances throughout recent weeks.
Transfers such as Kapke (averaging nearly ten points per game), Forte (six), Shaw (four), and Asemota (three) have contributed significant minutes this year; newcomers Steger and Radunovic have also seen action regularly off the bench.
