The Boston College Sailing team finished in fifth place at the NEISA Open Team Race Championships, held at Brown over Easter weekend, according to an April 5 announcement. The Eagles posted an overall record of eight wins and ten losses during the two-day regatta.
This result places Boston College among the top teams out of twelve competitors at the event. The team’s performance highlights their ability to secure key victories and maintain a competitive standing in collegiate sailing.
Boston College began the championship with a 5-6 record on day one, achieving wins against Tufts, Yale, Bowdoin, University of Rhode Island (URI), and Connecticut College. On the second day, they improved their position by finishing 3-4 in Round Two with additional victories over Coast Guard and host school Brown.
The roster for this regatta included skippers Peter Busch, Jack Redmond, Peter Joslin, and Tanner Krygsveld. Crew members were Lanie Ferrarone, Christian Yanoti, Brooke Bergendahl, Caroline Sibilly, Damien Bocan, Ryan McGauley, and Alex Lech.
Looking ahead to next week’s competitions, Boston College is scheduled to participate in three more regattas: the Thompson Team Race and Oberg Trophy on April 11-12 followed by Central Series 4 on April 12. These upcoming events will provide further opportunities for the team to build on its recent performance.
