The Boston College softball team lost the final game of its series against Georgia Tech on April 4, with a final score of 11-4. The Eagles, now holding an overall record of 11-26 and a conference record of 2-10 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, started strong but could not hold off the Yellow Jackets.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the first inning when Abby Ptak drove in Sammy Horn for an early lead. Holly Paharik extended that lead with an RBI double in the second inning, putting Boston College ahead by two runs. However, Georgia Tech responded quickly, scoring four runs off five hits in their half of the second inning and adding three more runs in the third to take a commanding 7-2 advantage.

Boston College attempted a comeback in the fifth inning as Emma Knight hit her tenth home run of the season—a two-run shot that narrowed Georgia Tech’s lead. Despite this effort, Georgia Tech added four more runs later that inning to secure their victory.

Knight’s performance marked her tenth career home run and her twelfth multi-RBI game this season, bringing her total RBIs to a team-high thirty-four. Sammy Horn contributed with three hits and four runs over the course of the series.

Looking ahead, Boston College will begin its longest home stretch of the season on Tuesday at 4 p.m., hosting UConn before facing Syracuse and No. 23 Duke on consecutive weekends.
