The Boston College softball team concluded its participation in the Hokie Invitational on Saturday with a dominant 13-0 win over Bryant, followed by a narrow 3-2 defeat against Radford.

In the first game, Emma Knight set the tone early for the Eagles with a solo home run in the opening inning. She continued her strong performance in the fourth inning with a double to left field. Abby Ptak and Meghan Schouten contributed hits that helped extend Boston College’s lead. The Eagles added five more runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Schouten.

Pitcher Emily Van Cleef was effective throughout all six innings, allowing only three hits and recording four strikeouts. Her efforts helped secure the shutout victory for Boston College.

In their second game of the day, Radford established an early 3-0 advantage after three innings. Boston College responded in the bottom of the fourth when Sammy Horn singled down the left field line, followed by Knight’s second home run of the day to cut Radford’s lead to one run. The Eagles’ defense held firm for the remainder of the contest, including two consecutive strikeouts from Bailey Kendziorski in the sixth inning, but Radford maintained its lead to claim a 3-2 win.

Emma Knight finished with a .571 batting average for both games and now leads her team with six home runs this season. Schouten led Boston College with five runs batted in during Saturday’s matchups.

Emily Van Cleef completed her start against Bryant without allowing any runs and limiting opposing batters to a .176 average.
