Boston College women’s basketball announced on May 22 the signing of Samantha Davis.
The addition of Davis is expected to strengthen the team’s roster, bringing both athletic ability and a competitive mindset. Head coach Kate Popovec-Goss said, “Sam is an incredible athlete with an elite motor. In high school, she was All-State in volleyball, basketball, and track. On the court, she will enhance our roster with her defensive versatility, ability to rebound, and competitive mindset. We believe that Sam’s just scratching the surface of the player that she will become, and her winning mentality will enhance our locker room. We are thrilled that she chose Boston College!”
Davis is a 6-foot forward from La Crosse, Wisconsin who played at Aquinas High School as a three-sport athlete in basketball, volleyball, and track. She ended her high school career as Aquinas’ all-time leading scorer with 2,167 points and its all-time leading rebounder with 870 rebounds. Over four years at Aquinas High School, Davis also recorded 366 assists and 178 steals.
During her time at Aquinas High School, Davis helped lead her team to a record of 98-14 across four seasons while capturing four MVC conference titles and four WIAA regional championships. The team made a state championship appearance in 2023. Davis earned All-State First Team honors every season throughout her high school career.
In her senior year alone, Davis averaged 22.3 points per game along with 8.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals as Aquinas finished the season with a record of 24-3.
Davis also achieved success in volleyball by helping Aquinas win an MVC conference title and reach the state championship match in 2024; she finished as the school’s all-time leader in kills for volleyball as well as being named all-state in both volleyball and track.
She is the daughter of Mark and Sarah Davis and has three brothers: Johnny, Jordan, and Max.
