Boston College women’s rowing to compete at Lake Wheeler Invitational

The Boston College women’s rowing team is scheduled to participate in the Lake Wheeler Invitational on April 24 and 25 at Lake Wheeler Park in Cary, North Carolina.

The event will see the Eagles racing three Varsity 8+ boats and two Varsity 4+ boats across three rounds held over Friday and Saturday. The schedule includes two rounds on Friday—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—and a final round on Saturday.

According to information released by Boston College, races for the Eagles begin Friday morning with events at 9:30 a.m. (3v8), followed by races at 10:00 a.m. (2v4), 10:30 a.m. (1v4), 11:00 a.m. (2v8), and 11:30 a.m. (v8). In the afternoon session, they are set to race again at intervals between 2:35 p.m. and 4:35 p.m., covering all boat categories entered.

On Saturday, Boston College will continue with races starting from 9:10 a.m., concluding their scheduled events by late morning. The competition includes teams such as Louisville, Georgetown, Navy, Duke, West Virginia, Oklahoma, George Washington, Miami, Virginia, Tulsa, Southern Methodist University (SMU), North Carolina, and Old Dominion on Friday; while Georgetown, Louisville, North Carolina, SMU, Oklahoma, Old Dominion and Tulsa are listed for Saturday’s competition.

Livestreams of the regatta will be available via ACCNX throughout both days of racing.

Weather forecasts indicate mostly sunny conditions with high temperatures reaching into the upper eighties Fahrenheit both days; there is also potential for stray thunderstorms on Saturday.
