Boston College women’s lacrosse falls to Duke, looks ahead to California matchup

Boston College’s women’s lacrosse team lost to Duke University 17-6 on Wednesday night at Koskinen Stadium. The Eagles now have a season record of 2-4 overall and are 2-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), while Duke improves to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Marissa White was Boston College’s top scorer, achieving her third hat trick of the season with three goals. Giulia Colarusso contributed two goals, and Molly Driscoll added one goal along with an assist for a total of two points.

Defensively, Julia Hodell led the Eagles with three caused turnovers. Shea Baker recorded two caused turnovers and collected two ground balls. Goalkeeper Shea Dolce made nine saves during the game.

Duke started strong by scoring the first two goals before Driscoll assisted Colarusso to cut the lead to 2-1. However, Duke then scored four consecutive goals to end the first quarter ahead 6-1.

In the second quarter, White scored on a free-position attempt, narrowing Duke’s lead to four goals. Duke answered by adding three more goals before halftime, leading 9-2 at the break.

The Blue Devils maintained their momentum through the third quarter, extending their advantage into double digits and securing control for the remainder of the match.

Boston College will look to recover from this loss when they play California on Saturday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
