The Boston College women’s tennis team secured a narrow 4-3 win over No. 60 Georgia Tech on April 12 at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

This victory is significant for Boston College as it marks their second Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season and comes against a nationally ranked opponent. The result could provide momentum for the Eagles as they prepare for postseason play.

The match began with Tola Glowacka and Bella Camacho winning their doubles match on court two by a score of 6-0. However, Georgia Tech responded by taking victories on courts one and three, earning the doubles point before singles competition began.

In singles play, Nadia Barteck tied the overall score with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles. Leyden Games followed with another victory at No. 3 singles to give Boston College an early lead. Georgia Tech’s Alejandra Cruz, who is nationally ranked, defeated Olivia Benton at No. 1 singles to even things up again before taking another point at No. 2 singles when Taly Licht won in three sets against Seren Agar.

Camacho helped Boston College tie the match once more after coming from behind to win her contest at No. 5 singles in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-3). The deciding match came down to court four where Glowacka rallied from losing the first set to defeat Seri Nayuki (2-6, 7-6, 6-2), clinching the overall team victory for Boston College.

With this result finalized as Boston College defeating Georgia Tech by a score of four matches to three, attention now turns toward postseason competition.

Boston College will next compete in Cary, North Carolina during the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships scheduled from April 14 through April 19.
