The Boston University field hockey team gathered at The Stockyard on April 6 to celebrate its 2025 Patriot League championship season and distribute annual program awards. The event also included a ceremony honoring the graduating class.

The gathering recognized senior Caroline O’Brien as the team’s Most Valuable Player for her performance during the season. O’Brien became the first player to score a hat trick in a Patriot League championship game, leading all conference players with 15 goals and 37 points, which marked the highest total by a Terrier in nearly two decades.

Sophomore Shea Freda received the Most Improved Player Award after an impressive debut year as a starter on defense. Freda was also recognized as an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. Senior Amalia Preece earned the Erin Prediger BUFHA Spirit Award for maintaining enthusiasm and spirit throughout the season despite being sidelined by injury.

A new award called the Daily Standard Award was introduced by the coaching staff to honor consistent effort both on and off the field. Senior co-captain Celia Nocivelli was named its first recipient.

O’Brien, Preece, Nocivelli, Maddie Hudson, Natalie Epperson, Martu Coulo, Megan Wetzel, and Alex Purcell were each presented with framed jerseys and delivered farewell speeches to teammates, coaches, and support staff.

The celebration highlighted individual achievements while marking another successful year for Boston University’s field hockey program.
