The Boston University women’s swimming and diving team advanced to third place in the standings at the Patriot League Championships after a strong showing on Thursday at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Maryland. The team’s success was led by its freshmen, who secured all three podium finishes for the Terriers on the second day of competition.
Freshman Alayna Kennedy won gold in her first appearance at the Patriot League Championships, scoring 300.55 points in the 1-meter diving event. This victory marked Boston University’s first gold medal of the meet.
Molly Barber, also a freshman, earned silver in the 50-yard freestyle. She later returned to the podium as part of the 400 medley relay team, alongside fellow freshmen Kiki Rampersad, Hadar Miller, and Danka Ndubuisi. The relay team finished second in their event.
With these results, Boston University moved up three places in the team standings and now sits in third place heading into Friday’s events. The Terriers are currently 19 points behind Army West Point.
