The Boston University lightweight rowing program will compete at the IRA National Championship Regatta at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California, on May 30-31. The Terriers are set to race three crews over the weekend: a Lightweight Double (2x), a Lightweight Four with coxswain (4+), and a Lightweight Eight with coxswain (8+). Saturday’s schedule includes heats that will determine placement for Sunday’s finals.

Fans attending the regatta can purchase tickets through the IRA’s official website. All sessions of the championship will be streamed live on Overnght.com with a paid subscription, and live results will be available via Regatta Timing.

Saturday’s races begin at 8 a.m. Pacific Time with BU’s Lightweight Double facing MIT, Princeton, and Gordon in Heat 1. The Lightweight Four competes in Heat 2 against Harvard-Radcliffe, Georgetown, and Stanford at 8:24 a.m., while the Lightweight Eight races Princeton, MIT, and Sacred Heart in Heat 1 at 8:32 a.m.

Lineups for BU include Emilia Vukasinovic and Catherine Clark in the Double; Lylah Nag (cox), Kiana Banta (bow), Mia Seibert (2), Sam Angel (3), and Cece Mason (stroke) in the Four; and Hannah Clark (bow), Harper Mettes (2), Serena Jabre (3), Ava Kennedy (4), Ela Ersan (5), Caroline Burchette (6), Carly Milosevic (7), Rosa Beckert (stroke) with Mira Saldanha as coxswain for the Eight.

At their last event on May 3 at Lake Quinsigamond’s Eastern Sprints, both BU Doubles won first place while both Fours secured silver medals. The Lightweight Eight finished fourth in its Grand Final as BU earned 56 team points overall. In recent rankings released May 19 by CRCA/Pocock Coaches Poll, BU’s two-time defending IRA gold medalist Double was ranked first among eight schools; their Four was second behind Princeton; and their Eight held third place behind Princeton and Harvard-Radcliffe.

Last year at this championship regatta, BU finished third overall for team points while winning gold in the Lightweight Double event. Since 2015, Boston University has consistently placed among the top three teams when points were recorded at IRAs. The program’s Double has captured five gold medals since 2016.
