The Boston University men’s tennis team earned its second Patriot League victory of the season by defeating Loyola Maryland 4-1 on March 23.

This win brings the Terriers’ overall record to 6-10 and their conference record to 2-1. The match began with Boston University claiming the doubles point after victories at both the second and third doubles positions. Junior Adrian Quiros and freshman David Asenov secured a close win at second doubles, while sophomores Jaydon Barki and Andrew Andea won at third doubles.

In singles play, Loyola Maryland took an early lead by winning the first match. However, Quiros responded for Boston University with a straight-set victory in third singles. Sophomore Payton Jim-On then battled through three sets to win at second singles, followed by Andea clinching the overall team victory with his own straight-set performance at fourth singles.

The remaining two singles matches were unfinished when play concluded. In doubles, Lawliss and Gill from Loyola Maryland won against Jakob Esterowitz and Jim-On from Boston University in first doubles, but Boston University’s teams prevailed in the other two matches.

Looking ahead, Boston University will face Stonehill on April 1 before returning to Patriot League competition against Holy Cross on April 4.
