The Boston University men’s tennis team lost to Army West Point, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon, April 12.

This result impacts the Terriers’ standing in the Patriot League as they now hold a record of 7-12 overall and 3-3 within the league. The loss comes as the team prepares for the upcoming Patriot League tournament quarterfinals.

During doubles play, Boston University dropped both the first and second flights. In singles matches, injuries affected their performance. At third singles, sophomore Andrew Andea was set for a third set after splitting the first two sets when Army clinched victory. Junior Adriian Quiros was tied at six games each in his second set at second singles before his match went unfinished. The Terriers defaulted sixth singles due to injury issues and retired at first singles.

The final tally saw Army win by default at sixth singles and take victories at first and fifth singles flights. Other matches were left unfinished once Army secured enough points for victory.

Boston University will now wait to learn its opponent for the Patriot League tournament quarterfinals, which are scheduled to begin Friday, April 24 at Lehigh University. The team’s final seeding depends on remaining league matches yet to be played.
