The Boston University men’s tennis team won a 4-2 match against the Holy Cross Crusaders on April 4, with sophomore Andrew Andea clinching the victory for the Terriers.
This result marks the Terriers’ third Patriot League win of the season and brings their overall record to seven wins and ten losses. The team dropped the initial doubles point, despite a victory by Ege Topkoc and Adrian Quiros at third doubles. However, they recovered in singles play by winning four matches at flights one, three, four, and five.
Payton Jim-On started off singles competition with a straight-set win on court three. Freshman David Asenov followed up with a hard-fought victory at first singles. After Holy Cross took second singles, Quiros earned another point for Boston University at fourth singles. Andea secured the match in a three-set battle after splitting the first two sets with his opponent.
The Terriers will next travel to Army West Point for two matches: one against Lehigh on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m., and another against Army’s Black Knights on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m.
The detailed results show strong performances from several Boston University players across both singles and doubles competitions.
