Boston University will host the 2026 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Track & Tennis Center from February 28 to March 1. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on both days, with streaming coverage starting at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday through ESPN+.
The Boston University women’s team enters the competition as the defending champions after winning their third program title in 2025, their first since 2016. They are aiming to secure back-to-back championships for the first time in school history.
On the men’s side, the Terriers seek their first-ever championship win and are looking for a fifth consecutive top-three finish. Last year, they finished third with 93 points. Academic All-Patriot League Team members Freddy Collins and Karsen Vesty return this season. Collins set new school records in both the 3000m (7:49.90) and 5000m (13:48.57), becoming the first athlete in program history to hold both records simultaneously. Sophomore Thomas Cowan also broke the school record in the 800m twice this season, now holding a time of 1:46.83, which ranks him 21st nationally.
For the women’s team, two All-Patriot League Team members return: Peace Omonzane, who was named Field Athlete of the Year in 2025 after winning both long jump and triple jump events, and senior Ellie Roan, last year’s weight throw champion. This season, Roan broke her own school record in the weight throw with a mark of 21.45 meters. The women’s squad also set a new school record in the 4x800m relay with Leonni Griffin, Caroline Collins, Samantha Lascelles and Olivia Dodds posting an 8:38.32 finish—surpassing a record that stood for more than three decades and placing them among Division I’s all-time best performances.
In total this indoor season, Boston University athletes have established multiple new marks within their program’s top ten lists across various events.
