The Boston University women’s basketball program announced on May 22 the hiring of Clint Williams as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Head coach Melissa Graves said Williams brings significant experience and a strong ability to recruit and develop players.

The addition of Williams is intended to strengthen the coaching staff and support player development. Graves said, “Clint brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our staff. He is relationship-driven, a tremendous evaluator and someone who understands what it takes to recruit and develop highly-talented players. His energy, work ethic and ability to connect with people makes him a perfect fit for our program and culture. I am certain Clint will make a positive impact on our team, both on and off the court.”

Williams joins Boston University after spending one season at Boston College. Before that, he was an assistant coach at Brown University for two seasons where he worked with post players including Giana Aiello, Alyssa Moreland, and Ada Anamawke, all of whom achieved career-best performances under his guidance.

His coaching background also includes three seasons as an assistant at Indiana State University and three seasons at Morehead State University where he served as recruiting coordinator while overseeing post players. At Morehead State, his teams led their conference in blocks and were among the top rebounding teams nationally.

In addition to his college coaching roles, Williams has served as associate head women’s basketball coach for the U.S. Virgin Islands Senior Women’s National Team, helping lead them to several international competitions including the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019. He contributed to winning gold at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador.

Williams holds degrees from Arkansas Baptist College (associate’s degree) and Tuskegee (bachelor’s degree in psychology). After college, he played professionally with teams including the Georgia Gwizzlies.
