The Boston University women’s golf team finished the opening round of the SHU Spring Break Invite in second place on Mar. 16, trailing Fairfield by three strokes at Eagle Harbor Golf Club.

The tournament was affected by weather, as rain caused the cancellation of the second round scheduled for Monday. As a result, the event has been shortened to a 36-hole format, with the final round set for Tuesday.

Freshman Wendy Li led all golfers after shooting an even-par 72 in her first round. Junior Amy Han and classmate Hibiki Adachi, who is competing as an individual, both shot a 2-over 74 and are tied for fourth place. Freshman Monica Wu made her collegiate debut with a score of 76, tying for 13th position.

Other contributors included freshman Sophia Zhang with an 81, while senior Annika Manjunath and junior Madison Takai each posted scores of 83. The Terriers recorded a team score of 303 in the first round. Fairfield leads with a score of 300, Manhattan is third at 305, and host Sacred Heart follows closely at 306.

The final round will determine the winner as teams prepare to compete under adjusted tournament conditions.
