The Boston University women’s lacrosse team lost to the No. 8 ranked Navy Midshipmen, 16-5, on April 4 at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis.

The result puts the Terriers at a record of 6-7 overall and 2-3 in Patriot League play. The loss highlights challenges for BU as they struggled offensively against a strong Navy defense and were outshot by the Midshipmen, who improved their record to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in conference games.

Junior Tessa Geddes led Boston University with three goals, reaching over thirty goals in a season for the first time in her career. Izabella Amonte added two goals, marking her second consecutive game with multiple scores this season. Reilly Walsh and Avery Cutair each recorded two assists for BU. Junior goalie Natalie Aiosa made ten saves on twenty-three shots during her time in goal.

Navy took control early by shutting out BU in the first quarter and building a four-goal lead before extending it throughout the match. Despite efforts from Geddes and Amonte—who scored off assists from teammates—the Terriers could not close the gap as Navy continued to add goals each quarter.

Geddes now has ninety-four career points on seventy-four goals and twenty assists. Cutair’s performance marked her sixth multi-assist game of the season.

Looking ahead, Boston University will host Lehigh on Saturday, April 11 at Nickerson Field as part of a doubleheader event with both men’s and women’s teams.
