Boston University women’s rowing finishes 19th at NCAA Championships

The Boston University women’s rowing program finished its season with a 19th-place result at the NCAA Championships on May 31 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia. The team competed through heavy tailwinds during the final day of races.

The Varsity 4+ began the day in the C Final, where it took sixth place with a time of 7:10.677. The boat was coxed by senior Maya Wiisanen and stroked by freshman Louise Forrester.

In the Second Varsity 8+ D Final, Boston University secured first place with a time of 6:21.480, finishing nine seconds ahead of second-place Rhode Island. The crew was coxed by sophomore Sydney Caragher and stroked by sophomore Gigi Williams.

The Varsity 8+ also claimed first place in its D Final with a time of 6:11.072, eight seconds ahead of its closest competitor. Sophomore Laura Leong served as coxswain and freshman Marta Carfagni as stroke for this crew.

Lineups for the events included Aryn Bailey, Sarah Stacey, Tatum Swanwick, Olivia Bencze, Raylynn Boston, Ingrid Eshuis, Kate Barham, and others across various boats.
