The Boston University women’s lacrosse team defeated the American Eagles 16-3 on March 28 at Nickerson Field.

The win marked a strong performance for the Terriers, who improved to a .500 record and secured their second Patriot League victory of the season. The game was notable as it took place on senior day, with several upperclassmen contributing significantly to the outcome.

Junior Izabella Amonte led BU with five goals, while senior Elle Stevenson added four. Junior Tessa Geddes contributed three goals and one assist, and senior Alyssa Mozi recorded one goal and three assists. Seniors Jayne Feeney and Leah Hodgins, along with junior Reilly Walsh, also scored in the game. In goal, junior Natalie Aiosa made five saves and allowed only three goals. Sophomore Kaitlyn Barton led the defensive effort with five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and eight draw controls.

BU established an early lead after Feeney’s opening goal and maintained control throughout the match. After allowing just one goal in each half from American, BU continued to press offensively in both halves. The Terriers limited American to only three goals—the fewest they have allowed since February 2019 against Hartford—and posted their best defensive showing in a Patriot League contest since April 2016 against Army West Point.

Amonte’s five-goal performance brought her career total to 52 goals in just 28 games—a new personal best—while Stevenson’s four-goal outing increased her career points total to a team-leading 99 points. Barton’s five ground balls set a new career high for her as well.

Looking ahead, Boston University will travel to Annapolis for an away game against Navy on April 4.
